Muskegon offers miles of scenic recreational trails, 26 miles of sugar sand beaches along the shores of Lake Michigan. Newaygo is in the heart of West Michigan and is home to 234 lakes, 356 miles of rivers and streams and over 100,000 acres of national forest. This impressive region is one not to miss.

What to See and Do in Muskegon to Newaygo

Just south of Ludington is a magical world of seventy foot sand dunes and evergreen forests. Here, burrowed amidst the Silver Lake State Park sand dunes, stands the spectacular Little Sable Point Lighthouse.

Just down the shore from Big Sable stands the Ludington North Breakwater Light, another charge of SPLKA’s and a partner with the City of Ludington. This 1924 light is also open for tours and tower climbs and boasts a vibrant green light from its tower.

Buttersville Park Beach is a dog-friendly beach south of Ludington and a little less crowded than the beaches closer to downtown. Follow the scenic drive to the Buttersville Peninsula to this quiet escape off the beaten path.

You will find the White River Light Station Museum in White Hall, Michigan about 25 miles north of Muskegon on the shore of Lake Michigan.

Fairs in Mason County can be traced back to the 1870s. However the present location hosted it’s first fair in 1936. The fair was discontinued for five years during the height of the Great Depression, but in 1936 the Western Michigan Fair Association was formed.

We always have FREE wine tastings for a few samples.

All 30+ wine varieties are open on the 2nd Saturday of the month for guests to try — FREE — (limited to 10 samples by law)

Outside of 2nd Saturdays, private tastings can be scheduled for groups of 10 or more...
