Getting its French title from proprietor Lucie Matthies' middle name and paying homage to the French immigrants who settled in the area, Chateau Fontaine was a deserted potato farm and cow pasture when Dan Matthies discovered the property in the 1970's with its favorable south-facing slopes for growing grapes.
It started with one vineyard more than three decades ago. Now Chateau Grand Traverse has moved into its second generation of family winemaking – producing eighteen wine varieties from four vineyards sprawling across more than 120 acres, all earning countless medals to attest to the care and quality we put into every bottle.
For over 100 years, four generations of Burtka’s have been making wines in this country for the enjoyment of their family and friends. Nestled in the Irish Hills, minutes from several lakes and Michigan International Speedway, John & Denise Burtka have created a new destination for wine lovers.
We have a problem. At Cherry Republic we have a great group of people. Our staff has diverse personalities and different expectations as to what makes their day go well, just like you. In the rare occasion something goes wrong with an order, or one of our foods, we know it will take unique individualized actions to correct the problem for you.
We always have FREE wine tastings for a few samples.
All 30+ wine varieties are open on the 2nd Saturday of the month for guests to try — FREE — (limited to 10 samples by law)
Outside of 2nd Saturdays, private tastings can be scheduled for groups of 10 or more...
Cody Kresta is a small family-run farm winery located on 20 acres of land in the Lake Michigan Shore Appellation in Mattawan, Michigan. The owners, David and Mary Lou, share two great passions – crafting distinctive southwestern Michigan wines and living in harmony with the land they love.
Third generation wine maker, Tony Peterson, perfected his craft while working many years as an apprentice in his father's winery. All the while, he dreamed of creating an experience that would incorporate the traditional art of wine making, old world charm and the very best of modern amenities.
The Country Mill orchard is the only mid-Michigan cider mill where a family can pick fresh apples, peaches, and blueberries at the same farm. We also offer our own locally grown vegetables such as sweet corn, winter squash, and pumpkins.
You can also enjoy a nice afternoon here picking strawberries and breathing in the fresh country air. Bring the whole family! You can always find more then enough berries to make your favorite jams or pie.
