Labor Day

Labor Day is the first Monday in September. Labor Day Weekend is also known as the last official holiday weekend of Summer. In days past schools never started before before Labor Day because of the tourism industry in Michigan. The holiday was created to honor and recognize the American workers and achievements of the United States.

Join the villagers of Hollygrove as they invite one and all to the magical 16th Century European village featuring 17 stages of exciting entertainment including: musicians, magicians, jugglers and jousting.

The walk begins at the Montague Trail Head, located at the east end of Spring Street, behind Whitehall Products and Montague Foods. City officials and area leaders will walk with the people of the community across the White River Bridge to the Chamber of Commerce located at 124 W. Hanson St. in Whitehall.

Labor Day Weekend

The annual Marquette Area Blues Fest will be held over Labor Day weekend at the beautiful Mattson Lower Harbor Park in Marquette. The fest features three days of world class blues music, along with workshops, a dance floor, vendors, and a wide array of food and beverage choices!!

Annual Mackinac Bridge Walk is always Labor Day. the Mackinac Bridge will be closed to public traffic form 6:30 a.m. to noon on Labor Day, to accommodate the Annual Bridge Walk.

There is no fee or registration required to participate in the walk.
