What to See and Do while in Michigan.

The Red Barn Tree Farm is a Bennett Family adventure. It’s something we’ve been slowly planning and working on for about 20 years. Now that we’re finally up and going, we would like to invite you to come create some memories and become part of our Christmas Family.

Open Mid September through October (check website for details). Admission to the Wild Pumpkin includes our Petting farm, Wagon ride to the pumpkin patch to pick pumpkins and to the corn maze, the Corn maze, our Playground, Corn box and Hay maze!

October 7, 2023

The Onekama Fall Festival takes place every year in the Village Park with lots of free activities and fun! Featuring scarecrows, hay rides, pumpkin decorating and events.
This event is fun for the whole family.

Every Friday and Saturday in October the S.S. City of Milwaukee transforms into the Manistee Ghost Ship! This tour will satisfy anyone looking for that fall “scare” For more information on the ghost ship, or the S.S. City of Milwaukee, visit their website at: www.carferry.com

September 29-30, 2023

Each fall West Michigan gathers Riverside Park Grand Rapids for Octoboerfest! A festival the celebrates BEER, well not really. The celebration of Oktoberfest started in Bavaria (southern Germany) but has become loved all around the world as a celebration of good beer, good food, and warm camaraderie among friends.

Welcome to Harvest Moon Acres Corn Maze & Fun Park. We are southwestern Michigan's place for outdoor family fall fun! A variety of attractions including a 5-acre Corn Maze, Fun Zone, Farm Animals, hayrides, and more awaits you. Check website for dates and hours.

Nothing pairs better with fall leaves than a hot coffee and roaring waterfalls. Did you know that Upper Michigan autumns easily rival those of the east coast? With our hundreds of thousands of acres of pristine forests, it's no wonder locals tolerate the harsh winters for such a treat.

From the beginning in 1957 Dorie and Nub Sarns knew that this hill in the great Michigan outdoors was going to be some place special. They cleared the trees and installed a double chairlift, and opened for business. In 1964 the slope "Crazy Otto" opened named after the groomer Otto Washburn.

Southeastern Michigan Ski Industry invites you come out and share our expertyly groomed trails perfect for both Skiing and Snowboarding.

January 20 & 21, 2024

Looking for a fun outdoor event for your family? The downtown will have over 35 ice sculptures for you to see. Also new this year, life size balloon sculptures will adorn the sidewalks during the event. Try your hand at our Scavenger Hunt through the participating merchants.

February 2-4, 2024

The cool streets of South Haven will be blazing during the HOTTEST winter festival around!

Located in Oakland County between Detroit and Flint, Pine Knob is your destination ski resort in Southeast Michigan. Whether you are a beginner or expert, family or individual, we are the place for you to enjoy the slopes this season.

Midland City Forest offers wonderful cross country skiing on groomed trails for classic and skate skiing. Trails are designed for skiiers of all levels, from beginner to an advanced 11k loop. A .7 mile beginner trail is lighted from dusk until 8 p.m. every evening. Routes and distances can be obtained by clicking on the map to the right.

December 1, 2023

The annual Christmas Tree Lighting downtown on Main Street kicks off the 3-day Christmas Bazaar and ushers in the winter season on Mackinac Island. Gather at 5:30 p.m. across from the Star Line Dock #1 for caroling and good cheer.

1st Weekend of October

Scarecrow Festival is a family event for all ages – a fall festival featuring Scarecrow Contest | Dog Costume contest | children’s area with games/rides carnival | local and regional musical acts | Scarecrow Idol contest, and many other events.

Snow Tubing at Timberlee Hills is the perfect way to spend the day with your whole family in Traverse City this winter. It’s all the fun of sledding – without hiking back up the hill!

February 15-19, 2024

The UP200 is one of the top 12-dog mid-distance races in the Midwest, as well as being an Iditarod qualifier. The UP200 trail covers 230 miles of challenging terrain from Marquette to Grand Marais, Michigan and back again through forested land and near-wilderness. Mushers face hills, creek crossings, deep snow, and isolated trail.

Ice Skating
Enjoy a picturesque, winter tradition and hours of outdoor fun ice-skating at Kensington Metropark. The rink is located at the Orchard Picnic area near the picnic shelter, not far from the sledding hills! There is a small walkway mat from shelter to the rink. The rink is open when ice conditions permit.

Santa, chestnuts, tree lighting, carols. A great way to kick off the holiday.

November 19 & 20, 2022 at 2:00PM and 3:00PM

Join us in our Program Center as St. Nicholas tells the story of how he became Santa Claus. This half-hour performance, a tradition here at Bronner's, involves audience participation. Don't miss out on this memorable experience for children of all ages.

Tired of battling the mall crowds? Why not bring your child to Rockford to visit Santa – all in the idyllic setting of downtown. Kids can give Santa their wish lists, and enjoy free hot cocoa and cookies!

Come celebrate 101 years of a magical tradition in downtown Harbor Springs at the Christmas Tree Lighting. This is one of the most unforgettable ways to start off the holiday season!
